TV Pančevo continues witch hunt against local journalist Nenad Živković

TV Pančevo has broadcast in its programme a feature in which it repeated accusations dating back three months, directed against pancevo.city portal journalist Nenad Živković.

According to Živković, the reason for the fresh attacks against him is the article he authored on the activities of the city government, which was recently published on the portal he writes for.

In response to a witch-hunt led previously against this journalist, the Regulatory Body for Electronic Media (REM) issued two warning measures against Radio-Television Pančevo on 13^th March. According to reports of the REM Council, Radio-Television Pančevo violated the provisions of the Law on Electronic Media and the Guidelines on the Protection of Human Rights.

The Independent Journalists’ Association of Vojvodina (NDNV) has warned that Radio-Television Pančevo is continuing its very dangerous campaign of targeting Živković and broadcasting lies and insults at his expense.

This association called on the “invisible Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (REM)” to finally start acting in accordance with the law and to “respond to inflammatory media features and media companies that promote violence and hate speech”.
